Fernando Haddad, the son to Lebanese immigrants in São Paulo, Brazil, is currently in second place with 26.4% of the votes in the ongoing Presidential elections in Brazil, according to Reuters. Far-right presidential hopeful Jair Bolsonaro is leading the field with 48.5% of the votes.
Bolsonaro will need to reach the 50% mark this round in order to become president outright. However, if he doesn’t reach that mark, he will go head to head with Haddad, from the left-wing Worker’s Party, in a second round later this month on October 28.
