We’ve all been there. But according to Connor McGregor’s nutrition specialist George Lockhart, Cinnamon is the answer. In an exclusive interview with Firas Zahabi (seems to be of Arabic descent, we reached out to him for confirmation), MMA coach to Champions like Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones, Lockhart answered nutritional questions from fans and his answers were extremely insightful.

Here is a highlight of his nutritional tips:

  1. Sugar Cravings – a spoonful of cinnamon mixed with a glass of water will flatline your insulin levels and get sugar cravings under control
  2. Energy Boost – for an energy boost before a workout take a tablespoon of honey. Caffeine also does the job
  3. Protein Shakes – protein shakes should be taken before and not after a workout
  4. Supplements –  supplements are just that. They are supposed to supplement what you are doing and not replace it
  5. Red Meat – eat red meat only once a week
  6. Cheat Meals – have a cheat meal only once every few weeks and not weekly
  7. Water – water water water. Keep drinking water
  8. When To Eat – don’t wait to get hungry in order to eat. You should eat before you get hungry
